The Environmental (Impact Assessment and Audit) Regulations, 2003 requires proponents of all new projects to undertake an environmental impact assessment study and submit a report to NEMA for evaluation. The EIA study should be undertaken by a registered Lead expert.
The regulations also require the proponent of an ongoing project or an existing workplace to undertake an annual environmental audit and submit a report to NEMA for evaluation.
